The State of Ohio allows contributions to candidates for Statewide or District wide office and provides you with a tax credit for your contribution. The Ohio Political Contributions Tax Credit (line 55 on your Ohio IT-1040 tax form) allows you to take a dollar for dollar tax credit for up to $100 for a married filing jointly return or a $50 credit for a single filer. For example: A contribution to Marcus as a joint filer for $100 you can reduce the tax you pay the state by $100.This means a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your 2017 Ohio income taxes.
Friends of Marcus Rech may only accept contributions from United States Citizens or permanent resident aliens. Corporate contributions are prohibited. Partnerships, LLCs and other unincorporated entities may contribute, but must include the name of an owner, partner or member to whom to attribute the contribution. All contributors must provide their name and address regardless of the amount of the contribution and the name of their employer if the contribution is for more than $100. If self-employed, the business name and occupation of the contributor must be provided. Contributions to Friends of Marcus Rech are not tax deductible.
